A young lady, from FedEx, just now dropped by the house with a couple of large boxes in tow. It looks like I now have the job of locating, setting-up, and testing-out the CAliVA computer. (Hope it came with a 100Mb/s network adapter installed.)

The last three packages in this shipment just landed on our door step; the contents of which easily convince me that we need a larger curriculum shelf–and a larger residence–given that we have 3 backordered standard materials boxes (2 - Art 4 & 1 - LArts 3) yet to cram into the school shelves. Kellyann Garcia just called-over from Robinson to ask if she really should un-enroll the girls from the school. With palpable ambivalence, I told her that she should.
This is definitely the best thing to do for the girls. LBUSD has sold, and will continue to sell, them short because of their giftedness–along with some insane pseudo-policy which forbids grade-skipping. While I won’t miss the larger, and very lumbersome, entity of LBUSD at all; I will miss certain people employed by LBUSD quite a bit. (more…)

Last week, we received confirmation that the enrollment process is complete, and requests went straight to LBUSD for our two youngest daughter’s Cumulative Academic Record folders. It’s nice to know that history won’t repeat itself (more…)
These folks seem to follow-up with parents very well.
I’d like to point-out, to those who run across this, that we have been involved with LBUSD for more than 5 years, now; and, until we received a recent phone call from Stephanie Sosa, not once were we ever asked what we considered to be the best thing for our child.
