“Americans don’t want to see Americans suffer…”

The high inertia response time from the fed has made us absolutely furious with our government, and somewhat ashamed to be identified as Americans; but, I suppose, this must be the natural out-growth of what certainly looked like twice-rigged elections at the time.

From the news: Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice became the administration’s chief defender against charges that help, particularly to the hurricane’s disproportionately black and poor victims in New Orleans, came too slowly. “Americans don’t want to see Americans suffer,” she said as she toured Alabama. “Nobody, especially the president, would have left people unattended on the basis of race.”

Certainly not Condoleezza! We would never think a thing like that!

The truth of the matter probably falls more along the lines of the New Orleans victims’ poverty being enough to give many high-placed people the excuse to turn their backs and avoid seeing Americans suffer, huh? But it certainly wasn’t racism on the part of a good-ole-boy from Texas, born with a silver spoon in his mouth, was it? :::nudge-nudge, wink-wink::: We believe you.

Just how much did we spend in Iraq, again, today?
