Swimming in the Pensieve

I just put the last touches (for today, at any rate) on the air conditioner that finally got installed today. (Thank you Janette & Phillip! You were a big help today!) Even though it was cooler today than it was yesterday; WHAT A JOB! Murphy me no likeee, but Murphy seems to like me.

Tomorrow, I get to run the electricity to power this currently non-cooling hunk of scrap metal. It’s been a while since I’ve had a good excuse to have some fun with 10Ga THHN and ½” EMT. ϋ

BTW: The CAliVA computer is beyond dead. A few hours without power did it no good when I plugged it back in and tried powering it up. (I am not going to open this thing up and fix the power supply!) I’ll definitely have a chat with somebody who cares that it’s DOA, and wants to facilitate the pick-up of this one, and delivery of a new machine (Chassis, keyboard and mouse only, please!)

To the caring individual who dropped me a note and asked how the bump on my head is: No bump, but thanks for asking me. I took (loosely phrased) artistic license with the story of the death of the computer. There was no loss of consciousness, no penguins (although that would have been really cool!), no screaming penguins (probably not cool, anyway), and no owie upon my noggin. The biscuits and gravy were, however, well received by the family.

Anyway, I’m hot, tired and hungry. Time to raid the kitchen and grab a quick shower before I fall into bed.

[Afterthought: Chatter on some of the CAliVA boards convinced me that it would be a generally good idea to do a write-up on home networking. Something to that effect is now in the works and, when it hits the Resources section, your feedback would be greatly appreciated.]
