Programme 1 (Education USA: Who's in Charge?) of a series of 3 programmes that included, in part, some input from Jim Konantz, the former Head of Schools for CAliVA/K12; as well as a blurb or two from our family.
The family was, of course, charming. I was hairy and Neanderthal in general demeanor.
At Anna Melin's welcome instigation; Lucy Bell, Philip Thompson, Peter Curan, Philip Turner and Barnaby Peel; all dropped-in on us at some point or another during the April/May time-frame, this year, and asked us about our take on education in the home, business involvements with same, and other American cultural nuances. I never did get to ask Philip Turner what he thought about Del Amitri, as we chatted outside that day.
I have no idea what form our input will take, or how much of what we had to say (not a lot, really

) will be used. I'm content to never really know more than what I know now, as I'm more interested in interviewing our interviewers, producers and presenter--for my own nefarious curiosity-satisfying purposes; than I am in seeing myself in video of any sort. "Don't you want to see yourself on TV (or other venue)?" Nope. I've seen myself in the mirror plenty of times. I doubt I've changed much.
(For those given to predictions, I'd wager that we--as a CAVA/K12 family-- are wedged into some part of Programme 2 (Education USA: Profiting from School)...what do you think?) [I later found a letter from Philip Thompson, discovering that this is, indeed, the case.]
I place
the link here, to make family members happy; and will follow-up with links to
Programme 2 (Education USA: Profiting from School) and
Programme 3 (Education USA: Land of Opportunity?) on the 9th and 16th--respectively--as the videos become available to you.
At any rate, give the first
Programme (Education USA: Who's in Charge?) a look. It's high quality, and an interesting use to which you might put an half-hour of your time.
